Jammin’ Down The Road

Some folks regularly drive into the city, and I am one of them.  The City I refer to is NYC, but I think that probably this is more human nature than geography to blame here.  With few exceptions, on the days that I am stuck in the worst Manhattan traffic jams, there are Traffic Officers (Pseudo Cops ala Barney Fife) at the center of the jam.

Now, I don’t want to point an accusing finger at anyone, but this is the case too often to be coincidence.  I think that probably none of these fine civil workers have driven in Manhattan or perhaps not at all and have no clue how traffic flows.

If this phenomenon is made worse by the City, then the City should add into their mix the cost of the unnecessary pollution that their imposed traffic costs, let alone wasting funds on some negative labor force that only impedes the flow of the motorist.  Of course then there is the waste of fuel and the increased need for oil, etc..

How about a break?
