Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives -- John Stuart Mill
Maybe there is no actual place called hell Maybe hell is just having to listen to our grandparents breathe through their noses when they're eating sandwiches -- Jim Carrey

We don't like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out. Decca Recording Co. rejecting the Beatles, 1962.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

The only rules comedy can tolerate are those of taste, and the only limitations those of libel -- James Thurber (1894-1961)
If you're sick and tired of the politics of cynicism and polls and principles, come and join this campaign -- George W Bush

The dangerous patriot is a defender of militarism and its ideals of war and glory -- Colonel James A Donovan, Marine Corps
But what ... is it good for? Engineer at the Advanced Computing Systems Division of IBM, 1968, commenting on the microchip.

Not only that, but Bloomberg's measuring stick is that of a billionaire and I just don't think he is intellectually equipped to handle the financial and social issues of the majority of middle class working folks.

Consider he thinks that the way to fix the traffic congestion is to make the middle class (most of the cars in manhattan), pay more to drive in to manhattan. Let me tell you as a driver in manhattan for more than 35 years.

This is about money and more money for the city. The causes of this congestion are all the vehicles allowed to double and triple park. the bad construction barrier mismanagement, and the parking allowed for civil workers at zero cost (I already pay for the priviledge to park in midtown $20 per day). Why are they given parking for free? I pay $4000 a year for this, and this free civil car parking, along with giving away parking cause they work for him, makes the roads narrower (=congestion) and clogged not the people that the mayor want to "fine" with this idea to add cost for the "priviledge" of parking in manhattan.

How about this? Bloomberg should not allow cars in manhattan at any cost. That would level the playing field for all the commuters and I would bet the farm that Bloomberg would never do this; his family could not drive in to the city, his friends could not, and his collegues could not. All of a sudden, once the inconvenience hit home, this whole idea would be flushed as it should.

Man, do I agree. Every time I am stuck in traffic, and it isn't rush hour, and there is no construction or an accident on the road, I find one of these incompetent traffic officers. They should be title Traffic Generators.

It Bloomberg wants your vote to be President, Can you imagine how many new laws will be constructed to make money and tax payers miserable? It's a darn shame.

I remember while I was commuting to and from school in Manhattan that parking was so difficult some times, that all the driving students would wind up double parking down some side street and going to class.

Once a month though, when it was another quoto of money to extort, the cops would "see" the double parked cars and ticket them all. It was like they cultivated their fishing ground until they were ready and the pickings were good enough.

How about all the times you watch the Police changing lanes without signalling or driving without wearing a seatbelt.

I guess they live by the Do as I Say, Not As I Do philosophy. You know, what's Good for the Goose...

It makes it easy to loath "the man" such obvious hypocrasy.

It's all about the money and it's sickening.

It's really sick that the the "greatest" city in the world uses entrapment to generate income. They know about these ambigous places and instead of fixing them, the New York City and it's administration FEEDS off it's citizens.

It's no wonder that so many people dislike NYPD. They are school yard bullies with guns. Scary and pathetic.
